Our Approach

We Facilitate the United Nations Convention Standards on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)

Peace Children Care Centre (PCCC) operates on the step that all children are created equal. It is our duty to ensure that they continue to have those equal chances in life even in unfavourable circumstances. PCCC works to ensure that all children under our care have their provision and protection, rights preserved in our home.

Children need extra protection and guidance from adults alongside having some special rights of their own. These children’s rights are laid out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). It acknowledges that every child has certain basic rights and lays down four fundamental principles: non-discrimination, participation, right to life and development and the best interests of the child. PCCC will keep in mind the above four principles as the core of childcare development.

Therefore, the children will be provided with necessities including remedial teaching as appropriate, medical care, counselling, recreational and self-development activites until they complete their tertiary education which eventually paves their way towards a brighter future. The home will also recognize the acute differences between vulnerable children who have had traumatic life experiences and children with complex special needs. The home will be outward facing, working with the wider system, with a network of professionals, organizations, and with children’s families (where necessary) and communities in order to support their emotional, mental and physical development and needs.

Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is developed for effective management of the Home adhering to UNCRC standards. This not only helps our staff to function efficiently but to ensure new staff provide consist quality of services.
